This Wednesday for Black History Month, there is a screening of Freedom Lost: Restoration at Craven Community College. I plan to attend and will be coming from Florida to North Carolina for an evening of sharing this wonderful history. The public screening is Wednesday February 27th at 6pm, Orringer Auditorium. Look forward to seeing you there.
Below is a link to a recent article the New Bern Sun Journal had on the coming event:

Hi, enjoyed the documentary very much. I wanted to suggest you add interviews with Dr. David Cecelski, who wrote the book I think entitled fire of Freedom....it has exactly the same premise as your film...the pivotal place New Bern has in African- American history, civil war history, even democracy.
I was very moved by dr. Cecelski's presentation, only a few weeks ago in New Bern. So sorry you missed it. It was videoed I think, however. Between the two of you, there is a dynamite documentary available, Ken Burns style! Msry Ann Horn
Hi Ann, Thanks for your kind comment about the documentary. Yes, I've heard of Dr. Cecelski. He definitely is someone I'd love to interview if I ever do a sequel to the film. I had planned to do one called The Forgotten History. We shall see if it will be possible. But he is definitely someone I'd love to talk to. Definitely Ken Burns style :) Thanks so much for your comment and for coming to the screening.
